In those times when everyone around you seems to be getting sick, when it is cold outside and it's still a long way from summer, the best thing you can do is load up on fruits and veggies to nourish your immune system.
I discovered this particular smoothie recipe on Sprouts & Chocolate and it is perfect for the job! The orange adds vitamin C, while turmeric, ginger and cinnamon have anti-inflammatory and immune boosting qualities!
Ingredients:
- 1 mango
- 1 orange
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 inch knob peeled ginger
- 1 inch knob peeled fresh turmeric (or 1 tsp turmeric powder)
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Peel & chop ginger and turmeric and peel the other fruit.
- Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth.
